"Youth of the Year" College Scholarship
Members, ages 16-18, compete to be selected as the Boy or Girl of the Year for their clubhouse. The winners from each clubhouse compete to be the "Youth of the Year." Each youth receives a four semester scholarship to Pima Community College, valued at $2,000.

Juliet
Yardy is a senior at Catalina Magnet High School. She has been a member
of the Frank & Edith Morton Clubhouse since its opening in 2003.
Since then Juliet has become a very strong, positive and influential
young women. As a club member Juliet has been encouraging and inspiring;
now as a staff member Juliet is proud to be a source of knowledge and
wisdom to the members she serves. Juliet has always known she wanted to
make a difference in the lives of our youth and as a result she is well
on her way to becoming a Juvenile Probation Officer. We can only hope
that Juliet’s drive, intelligence and kindness will rub off on others.

Emmanuel Castillo 2010 Boy of the Year

Emmanuel Castillo is a junior at Catalina Magnet High School. He has been a proud member of the Frank & Edith Morton Clubhouse for three years. Thanks to his club Emmanuel is on the right path to achieve his goals. Emmanuel is determined to be accepted to the Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute where his passion and hard work will carry him to his life long dream of owning his own restaurant. Emmanuel is a true testament of compassion, perseverance and strength. There is no limit to his success.

HOLMES TUTTLE CLUBHOUSE
Luis Mendivil 2010 Boy of the Year

Luis is a 16 year old Rincon High junior. He started attending Holmes Tuttle clubhouse during the 6th grade. As he starts his 5th year here, he is a keystone club member and a HAK during the summer and start of last school year. Luis loves sports, especially football, and basketball. He lives with his mom and his stepdad, and three sisters. After high school, he plans on enlisting in the Marines or the Air Force. He wants to be a computer technician or an animator.

Kayla Jones 2010 Girl of the Year
Kayla is a 15 year old Tucson high freshman. She has been a member of the Holmes Tuttle clubhouse for 4 years. She started out as a junior leader, and is now a keystone club member. She loves dance, and is a member of the dance program at Tucson high. Kayla is from a single parent household. Her mom manages a convenience store; her older sister works in one also. Kayla would someday like to be a cosmetologist, and open up her own hair salon.

PASCUA YAQUI CLUBHOUSE
Roxann Lozano 2010 Girl of the Year
Roxann Lozano is currently a junior at Southgate Academy high school and has been a member of the Pascua Yaqui clubhouse for ten years. After graduating from high school she plans to attend college to become a massage therapist. At the club she enjoys being a role model for the younger club members. She has participated in many programs such as Smart Moves, Meth Smart, Junior leaders, and is currently the Vice President of the Keystone club. Roxann Lozano has become an encouraging and positive role model for herself and younger club members.

Victor Cupis 2010 Boy of the Year
Victor has been a member of the Pascua Yaqui clubhouse for nine years and currently attends Pueblo Magnet High School. He has become a great leader through the Keystone club, and is currently the club’s President. Victor hopes to continue to mentor and be a positive role model for the younger kids. After graduating from high school he hopes to attend the University of Georgetown were he will get his degree. He has played basketball and football all throughout high school and hopes to one day coach collegiate basketball.

ROY DRACHMAN CLUBHOUSE
Ivylize Valdillez 2010 Girl of the Year
Ivylize Valdillez has been a member of the Roy Drachman Boys & Girls Clubhouse for eight years. She’s an avid participant within the computer room, winning first place nationally for one of her Digital Arts Projects. Ivylize is currently a senior at Sunnyside High School. Ivylize is an active member in DECA and has recently won first place for the 2010 Arizona State Conference. After she graduates she plans to join the Navy and study genetics.

Jesse Aguilar 2010 Boy of the Year
 Jesse Aguilar has been a member of the Roy Drachman Boys & Girls Clubhouse for seven years. He has participated in the Money Matters and Meth Smarts programs, also currently serving as Vice President of the Keystone Club. Jesse is currently a senior at Sunnyside High School and plans to attend Pima Community College in the fall. Soon after he will transfer to the University of Arizona and pursue a degree in business and culinary arts. |
STEVE DARU CLUBHOUSE
Prenda Rodriguez 2010 Girl of the Year
Prenda is a junior at Tucson High Magnet School and she has been a club member since the age of 7. Now, at the age of 17 she is currently a part-time staff member and is also a member of the “Untouchables” Keystone club. At school, Prenda is a member of the Dance Club and also participated in various other clubs such as the Bowling Club. Aside from her academics, Prenda is also a central figure in her household. She helps her parents everyday and is also a wonderful sister. Her two older sisters sometimes ask her to help watch their children while they are working. Prenda has aspirations to become a successful Hispanic Actress and she knows she can definitely achieve that with her hard work and dedication.

Alan Bustamante 2010 Boy of the Year

Alan is a junior at Luz-Guerrero Early College and has been a club member for the past 6 years. Alan plans to eventually graduate from high school and attend the University of Arizona so that he may become an engineer. At school, he is a wonderful student who is taking several Advanced Placement courses to get a head start on college. At home, Alan is a big part of his family. He helps around the house and also serves as a role model for his younger sister. At the club Alan is a Keystone club member and also helps with various activities such as the basketball league. Alan is a very dedicated person and he has big plans for his future.

JIM & VICKI CLICK CLUBHOUSE
Rebecca Ruiz 2010 Girl of the Year
Rebecca has been a member of the Jim & Vicki Click Clubhouse for two years now. She was also a prior member at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Nogales for three years. She has been involved with the HAK program for the past two years and serves as the Vice President for the Keystone Club here at the Click Clubhouse. She is a caring young lady; she helps out members at the Club as well as in her community. Rebecca is on track to graduate this year from Rio Rico High School. She enjoys sports medicine and strives to achieve a career as a K-12 Special Needs Instructor. She will peruse her career first by enrolling at Pima Community College, then later transferring to Northern Arizona University.

Rodrigo Lopez 2010 Boy of the Year
Rodrigo has been a member of the Click Clubhouse for about 2 years now. He has been involved with the HAK, Keystone and Money Matters programs. Rodrigo’s favorite thing to do at the clubhouse is to relate with the members while playing soccer and pool. He is an intelligent, hard-working young man. He contributes to his family by watching over his younger brother and setting an example for him. He is a student at the Nosotros Academy. Rodrigo wants to pursue a career in photography that interacts with nature and wildlife. |
