The Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson always needs volunteers!
Here are some of the opportunities available:
- Work directly in a clubhouse with youth ages 7-17. Some examples: Athletic and sports activities, homework help, games room, arts & crafts room.* Background check required for those over age 18
- Intern for school credit at a club or in the administrative office.
Postitions Available in the Administration Office:
Prior experience preferred, but not necessary. Training and materials will be provided
- Donor Database Assistant – Enter data into donor database system and run reports as needed.
Postitions Available in the Clubhouses:
Prior experience preferred, but not necessary. Training and materials will be provided
One-on-one Tutoring
Requirements:
- Commitment for at least 1 day a week for a full semester
- Dedicate least 45 minutes to meet with a member
(Staff will assign you with a specific youth at the Club)
- Understand basic elementary education
- Support the teaching of youth on how to read, write, math, etc…
- Track the progress of youth
- Communicate with staff and parent regarding progress of the youth
Homework Help
Responsibilities:
- Assist members with their homework
- Look over members homework assignments for errors
- Teach or listen to children read
- Assist with tracking members who complete homework to award Power Hour points
Arts & Crafts
Do you enjoy arts and crafts projects? We have the supplies if you will supply the time!
Responsibilities:
- Implement fun projects and activities
- Ensure sufficient supplies and/or requisition supplies from Club Director
- Teach youth art appreciation
- Solicit ideas from you for potential future activities
Games Room and Gym Help
Responsibilities:
- Teach members sports and recreational games
- Teach good sportsmanship
- Assist with leagues and tournaments
Teen Coordinator
Responsibilities:
- Survey the clubs teen members
- Based on survey, recommend and discuss potential projects/activities
- Coordinate teen activities and projects with clubs, members, and vendors
- Solicit feedback from teens to evaluate teen programming
When we receive your completed application, we will check your interests against our clubhouse needs and contact you regarding specific opportunities available. We will be contacting you to schedule for you to attend a volunteer orientation to learn more about our organization and how you can contribute.

Special Note:
Volunteer Orientation:
Volunteer orientations are generally held on the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays of the month (1st at 10:00 pm and 3rd at 3:00 am) @ the Harold Ashton Resource Center, 3155 E. Grant Rd. Once your complete application has been recieved, you will be contacted to schedule an orientation. After which you will be assigned a supervisor and your job duties and volunteer schedule will be determined.
