Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson has been in the forefront of youth development in Tucson for over forty years. In 2006, Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson served over 6,444 youth at five clubhouses located throughout Tucson. Our programs are offered year-round and are safe, fun and affordable for all youth.

Boys & Girls Clubs of America administers an evaluation called Standards of Organizational Effectiveness to clubs every three years. At our last review, in 2005, we received a score of 97 out of 100, placing us in the top 5% of Boys & Girls Clubs in the Pacific Region.

We credit our active, committed volunteers for our success. We have nearly 65 Board of Directors who oversee the operations of the organization as well as 50 Associate Board Members. These individuals raise over 40% of our annual operating budget through special events and individual, corporate and foundation fundraising. Because of our active volunteer base, we are able to return 80 cents on every dollar raised directly back to our clubhouse programs.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson offers programs that have been nationally field-tested and developed by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and are proven to be successful in helping youth develop self-esteem and to reach their full potential. The clubs are open five days a week during the entire year. We offer nearly 40 programs that fall into five areas:

• Character & Leadership Development
• Education & Career Development
• Health & Life Skills
• The Arts
• Sports, Fitness & Recreation

Each of the clubhouses are staffed by three full time Youth Development Professionals assisted by part-time staff and volunteers.
